Color-scheme
The first thing to consider is the color scheme of your country dining room. Typically, country houses are warm and inviting. Choose warm yellows and off white colors which are warming. Country homes are more often associated with rustic furniture. Although you can still incorporate very functional pieces of furniture, these should really be finished in natural wood. Tables and chairs will fit in perfectly when you use either dark or light wood tones.
