A Modern Family Home Hidden Behind A Countryside Aesthetic
The majority of modern and contemporary houses are defined by minimalism which is often expected and appreciated. However, the style doesn’t always suit every project. This is a family residence located in Cotia, Brazil. It was designed by studio Belluzzo Martinhao Arquitetos and its owners wanted it to have a countryside aspect which would help it look more welcoming. The glazed sliding doors bring the outdoors in and expose the interior spaces to the panoramic views, making the most of the surrounding landscape.
The house sits on a 1,200 square meter with a 10-meter slope. The house is placed at an elevation of 7 meters from street level, featuring a large plateau which offers an amazing view over the treetops. The entrance and the garage are positioned at the bottom of the site. The social areas sit towards the front of the lot, with the master suite facing the rear. The house has a large backyard garden which seamlessly merges with the woods behind it. The structure and design of the building put an emphasis on the dialogue between the indoor and the outdoor and they do it through their simplicity.
