A Relaxing Residential Retreat Surrounded By Vibrant Nature On All Sides
Located in Sonoma County, California, the Triple Barn House is a charming retreat designed by Mork-Ulnes Architects. It enjoys a secluded location which gives it lots of privacy and tranquility, surrounded by nature and wonderful views. At the same time, it’s close to the city which is very convenient so it seems this charming getaway really gets the best of both worlds. Design-wise, the project was inspired by rural typology typical to this area, with a simplified and modern vibe. Metal cladding was used to invoke the beauty of the rusty soil which defines the region and to help the building blend in more easily.
The house connects with nature in a way that urban homes can’t and that’s exactly what the owners were seeking with this amazing project. It’s a place where they find peace and tranquility and where they get to share everything with family and friends. The house was designed mainly for entertaining and includes 2 guest rooms, a large living room which extends seamlessly outside, an outdoor bar, a grilling area and a fire pit setting under a large oak tree. There’s also a large professional kitchen requested by one of the owners who is a chef, a vegetable garden and a separate office. Even though the interior is bright and defined by an open floor plan, there are many small private nooks which create a very cozy vibe throughout the house.
