Luxurious Paris Apartment has Eiffel Tower Views from Every Room
The interior of this stylish Parisian apartment is rivaled only by the views out the windows of each room: The Eiffel Tower and the Seine. Located in the 16th arrondissement near the Trocadero gardens, the 310-square-meter residence is the epitome of elegance and beauty, combining top quality details and custom furnishings.
The apartment was designed by Rinck, a company known as the “ambassador of the French art of living” and the residence certainly exudes that indescribable Parisian flair in every room. Operating for nearly two centuries, Rinck has its own manufacturing workshops that create decorative arts, furniture and woodwork. Using their wealth of expertise, the firm’s designers transformed the third-floor space into a contemporary residence with Art Deco influences in a very short 6-month period. The new design reconceived the entire apartment, creating a residence that fits today’s lifestyles with rooms that have better flow and volume.
In addition to the large living room and dining room, the apartment has a kitchen called “service” for the staff, two master bedrooms and one guest bedroom with an adjoining room, accessible from the service entrance, which can serve as aa staff service room or a teenager’s room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.
A master entrance features walls done in shades of warm taupe combined with a creamy white to magnify the height of the areas. There are pieces from galleries: Frédéric Saulou’s Habile console and Dimitry Samygin’s Arch Narrow Armchair from the Savannah Bay Gallery, as well as a resolutely decorative Alexandra pendant by Enrico Franzolini. The flooring is marble from Cascais, Portugal, set in a parquet pattern.
The entryway has French doors that lead into the main living space, which includes an oversized living room and a dining room. The area leading from the entrance to the dining room was opened by to create better flow and unify the space at the ceiling with moldings that carry through the elements found in the living room. The marble fireplace and the trumeau — the mirror and carved panel — were original elements that Rinck preserved
The large living room is set off by two large sliding vintage doors that the interior design firm restored. The main space is light-filled and soothing, furnished with low seating that puts the focus on the super large and dramatic suspension chandelier that is crafted from cotton percale designed by Rinck and hand made by craftsman in the south of France. The central collection of low tables also complements the lighting. The living room was enlarged by integrating much of the original entrance into the living space.
Throughout the apartment, exquisite detailing, such as in the moldings, wall panels, windows and doors make a major impact in a very subtle, elegant way. The small elements and a great deal of interest to a neutral space and allow the focus to be on other, more important elements. The way the long drapes frame the windows and the exquisite views are ideal.
Throughout the apartment, flooring is either marble or solid parquet of precious woods in a custom design manufactured by Rinck. The walls are a warm creamy white and include wallpaper or fabric by great designers such as Dedar, Hermes, Casamance and others. The furniture is a collection of different types of classic luxury and contemporary pieces: Rinck’s custom-designed layouts such as walk-in wardrobes, closets, doors, the entire kitchen, and bathroom furniture. Next, the collection has furniture from big-name designers including Christophe Delcourt, Savannah Bay Gallery and Hermes along with lighting by Enrico Franzolini, Jaime Hayon, Herve Langlais and Michael Anastassiades. Finally, the apartment has many custom-designed pieces of furniture by Rinck, such as the extra-large lampshade in the living room, bed headboards, and dining room table.
The generous and elegant dining room table was designed and manufactured by Rinck and features a walnut burl top, polished brass belt, gray stained oak legs, and hammered brass base. The overall neutral palette is accented by the rich cobalt blue velvet armchairs that are very comfortable as well as stylish. The suspension light fixture over the table is also fashioned from cotton percale. The black accents on the light echo those on the lights in the living room. The fireplace in the dining room is in perfect symmetry with the second fireplace in the living room, also an original feature of the space.
Reconfiguring the living and entrance spaces and allowed the designers to create a boudoir office in golden brown hues, whose access is nicely framed by Gervasoni creations and oversized, imposing pieces of Ravel pottery, originally intended for the outdoors but perfect as statement pieces indoors.
The bedroom area of the residence has four suites, the first of which is the master bedroom. The space includes a dressing room on one side and a bathroom on the other, with all spaces in a neutral beige palette along with black and white. The suite’s dressing room leads to a lounge area in the room that has amazing dimensions. The bed offers views of both windows, looking out to the Eiffel Tower on one side and the banks of the Seine on the other.
A second living area consisting of a Hamilton Conte curved chaise longue and a white marble coffee table, illuminated with indirect lighting from a capsule-shaped inset in the ceiling.
The master bathroom features a vanity with double basins underneath an oversized round mirror opposite a large freestanding bathtub. The shower area is done with mosaic glass tile and complements the rest of the space with its floor of all-white marble slabs.
The second suite offers great style benefits, even in areas not readily seen, such as the inside of the wardrobes. Rinck’s exacting attention to detail adds specific finishing touches throughout the space, including inside the cupboards, which are dressed in elegant wallpaper or colored lacquer.
Rinck’s combination of beautiful materials also grace the guest room, which although it does not have the magnificent views of the other rooms, offers unparalleled comfort. The guest bathroom features a Roman travertine marble floor and a marble mosaic shower, which faces a white bathtub surrounded by an Art Deco metal screen.
All the bedroom suites have bedside lighting incorporated into the custom headboards, which helps keep the space clear and uncluttered — a hallmark of Parisian style. The drapes are also emblematic of this decor style with their imposing length, generous volumes and neutral tone.
