Mountain House Keeps Alive The Local Traditional Architecture
While many regions on Uzbekistan have been modernized, there are still a few regions where traditional architecture and design can still be admired and this also applies to newer projects such as this house. Located in the G‘azalkent mountain area, this country house was designed and built by ARC Architects in 2018. It’s a relatively small and cozy retreat which offers 96 square meters of living space in total. It serves as a seasonal house and holiday retreat and it has a guest suite on the lower level.
The architecture and the overall design of this house are inspired by the natural topography of the site. Local stone mined in the immediate vicinity of the site was the main building material used by the architects throughout this project. All the different shapes and color tones give the facades a beautiful mosaic-inspired appearance and help it blend into the landscape seamlessly and organically. The design also has a traditional vibe throughout, being inspired by local mountain houses. The interior design and decor are also infused with numerous local influences.
