Stunning Villa in Bali Features A Unique Roof
The Carbon House is a modern villa with a tropical and very interesting design, located in Kecamatan Kuta Selatan, a sub-district in Bali, Indonesia. It was designed and built by Alexis Dornier in 2019 and it uses the surroundings and natural landscape in its favor. A key detail in the overall design of the house is the roof which features a unique structure. It sits flat over the interior spaces, extending to form overhangs. On one side it seems to seamlessly transition into a huge triangular panel that hovers a section of the patio and pool area.
The villa features 360 square meters of living space in total. It has four bedrooms and a series of bright and spacious common areas which transition outside, welcoming the outdoors in and vice versa. Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors make the transition as seamless as possible.
Furthermore, the selection of materials is also oriented towards helping the structure communicate harmoniously with its surroundings. It includes materials such as teak wood more than a hundred years old, terrazzo, local limestone and reclaimed ironwood.
